A capsule range of seven unique Oak and Chestnut hand painted shirts. The Autumnal fruits of a truly love-driven project, two years in the making. Natural pigments. Hand painted. Khadi cotton.
Last week I had the pleasure of working with Milly of oB and Babs of Botanical Inks to present a two-year in the making project; Fallen Leaves.
Celebrating the natural colours of the earth and appropriately released just a few days after autumn equinox, the result of the project is seven super special and one of a kind shirts, made from consciously sourced Khadi cotton and hand painted using oak and chestnut pigment.
It is projects like this that really remind me why I admire craftsmanship and collaboration so much, and why I am so grateful to be working with such creators. Using the fruits of nature, the knowledge of creating natural inks and presenting through pattern cutting and sewn fabric. Wearable items that carry a story and bring us closer to the earth…all while carrying their own personality, and allowing us to express our own.

I believe these fallen leaf shirts can be magical amulets to their wearer, if they so wish them to be.
At this time of the year, the trees are emitting a bio-chemical fragrance, lulling the animals and creatures back into their safety to shelter from the elements and to winter in their warm embracing bows and roots.
I was reminded of this vision as I brewed those large vats of windfall foliage. The aromatic tree language was thick in the air, penetrating every moment in the studio’s walls with a warming, comforting, earthy, good-feeling, protective and lulling atmosphere.- Babs, Botanical Inks
