August Inspiration Roundup
August inspiration roundup ~ how the past few weeks have looked…
1. The Barbie Movie. I’ve seen this twice now and think it’s absolutely genius. The archival attention to detail and reference points really light me up, even as someone who wasn’t a massive Barbie fan as a child. I did have the pooping Tanner labrador though. I hope there is a podcast or documentary released at some point sharing in-depth behind the scenes into the wardrobe department and planning - let me know if you’ve found one.
2. Fashioning a Better World: The Power of Consumer Choices | Lara Heiss | TEDxInnsbruck. I discovered this on the Female Factor community forum, where Lara Heiss is a member. The first 60 seconds encapsulates everything I believe in when it comes to owning clothing and sharing the stories behind garments when passing them onto loved ones.
3. This little guy, Peter, who came into the Mend Assembly studio.
4. When I saw this I suppose I felt a little sense of contentment with all the AI hysteria going on at the moment, as it shows we are still going to require human discernment for a lot of content being shared. Until the software gets even smarter anyway. But this is also where the problems start, because there is already a lot of misinformation online and of course humans can lie. I guess in this particular case though, if a mushroom picking book suggests taste testing to check the correct mushroom species, it might be best to check the facts with other publications…!
5. Using my Horizon Rocket Stove by Anevay Stoves during a beach campout. The perfect size for carrying down to the coast, each stove is designed in Cornwall and made in the UK.
