April Inspiration Roundup

April inspiration roundup ~ things I have seen online over the past 4 weeks that have stuck with me...

1. Via @farmersfootprint 'In the digital art series powered by AI, “A World Where Everything Is Grown, Not Made,” @philatz designs a reality where farmers pluck finished products from the earth, highlighting the disconnect behind our instant purchases and the ever-growing gap between farm and table.'

2. This beautiful shot by @anaickcrozon for @kaelyrussell_studio 🍊

3. by @alecleach_
A great quote that supports my love/hate relationship with social platforms. Love because of the discovery of someone/something new, but hate at the speed, throw-away content and demands of an ever-changing algorithm. I sometimes wonder if the term 'slow fashion' is correct, or whether the pace that has now been set for design, production, consumption and discarding is beyond anything it should ever have become.

4. In relation to this, I was introduced to @birgittahelmersson this month, a zero-waste sewing pattern designer and maker. I purchased the pattern for her #zwgatherdress which I am excited to draw out and make - maybe using antique linen too as she has done here for a WIP piece.

5. The Floater 🤢 by @surfersagainstsewage A surfboard made entirely of ocean waste and sewage. Have you signed the SAS Dirty Money Petition? I've added the link in my bio. Paddle-out protests across the UK on the 20th of May, Cornwall's location is Gylly Beach in Famouth and Devon's is Tinside in Plymouth. Check the map for a spot near you
