A Kind Reminder: Back Up Your Instagram!

Could you, or anyone that you know, use a nudge to backup your Instagram content? Do it now!

One of the top things I often harp on about when working with clients is...BACK UP YOUR INSTAGRAM!
Instagram could easily disappear at any moment and many people base their business and all of their content on this one app.

It pays to spread your content across different platforms as both a backup and to really make the most of the time you have used to plan, write and present your thoughts. Journal posts and Pinterest are my top two go-to's for increasing traffic to websites with the use of SEO keywords and newsletters are a great place to nurture your community with content only they will see.

So, how do you back up your Instagram? Follow the steps below…

I have two suggestions of how to back up your Instagram.

1. Request a download of your data
AND/OR
2. Anything you post to your feed, duplicate it using other marketing tools

If you go with option 1 - Request a download of your data
- On your Instagram profile open the hamburger menu in the top corner
- Tap the ‘Your Activity’ menu on your Instagram profile
- Select “Download your information” on Instagram settings
Remember: it can take up to 30 days to collect and send your data so plan ahead!

If you go with option 2 - Duplicate your content
Seeing as you are taking the time to plan and create an Instagram post, make the very most of it by sharing it across other marketing tools.
My top three are:
- Newsletters
- Website journal posts (get those SEO keywords in there!)
- Pinterest
Remember: always write content in a separate document for spell check and extra back-up

Most of us have all experienced an Instagram crash or seen someone’s profile hacked. Don’t put all of your content eggs in one basket!
