June Inspiration Roundup

June inspiration roundup ~ things that have caught my eyes and ears over the past 4 weeks.

1. Surfing Files - The Stories of South Devon - By Alex Williams. Recommended by a chap, Dave Trigger, who I met by the side of the road on the way back from a surf at Bantham with @leoa.studio. A book documenting stories dating back to the early 1960's of people surfing in the area that I call home. Dave is in the book apparently which he was excited to tell us about. Available to buy from @discoverysurfschool

2. A visit to the @kaelyrussell_studio x @leoa.studio pop-up at @studioninetotnes last week to see all of their designs arranged beautifully in the space, a short walk from where everything is designed and made.

3. I often get sucked into a thread of auto play recommended videos on YouTube that I don't always pay attention to when pottering around the house, but this part of one particular video really stuck with me. A quote by Earl Nightingale who was an American radio speaker and author, the video features a variety of audio clips of him speaking about the impact and power of our thoughts. To find on YouTube search 'The Power Of Mind | Earl Nightingale ( Listen To This Every Day )'.

4. A new interest of mine is watching thrifting reels on Instagram. I seem to get a similar rush to seeing what people have found, like I do in person! Maybe this is my procrastination confession of the month. HOWEVER it has led me to discover vintage denim expert @this.is.lovd who helps people to find their perfect fit from her extensive library of vintage denim. Genius! Based in Denver, CO.

5. Spotted at the end of one of @ranchlands's newsletters, I thought this is a great (and affordable) way to engage customers further with exclusive content and offers. The artwork is ace too.

6. @biofabricate has launched their own Biomaterials Learning Platform 'a first-of-its-kind resource that delves into the complexities of biomaterial innovation'. If you enjoy learning and expanding your knowledge within future textiles like I do, Level 1 is completely free.
